Mordecai House
Mordecai House (1785, remodeled 1826), Mordecai Historic Park, Raleigh. Photograph by Paulette Mitchell. If the economic, political, and social influence of the larger planters outweighed their numerical proportion, in terms of lifestyle they represented an anomaly. The Mordecai House features the Greek Revival style of many plantation houses. The structure once stood north of the city on the plantation of Moses Mordecai.
